Frequently asked questions

What payment gateway do you support?

Our system is integrated with Stripe. Stripe offers much better merchant protection compared to many payment gateways out there. Stripe also allows us to process the payments directly into your bank account instead of having to go through us.

What are the additional fees for e-commerce?

We charge a 1% transaction fee, there are no additional monthly charges for using our e-commerce feature. Stripe charges 3% + RM 1 per successful card charge or successful bank transaction.

Will I bear the cost for food delivery?

Nope! Your customers will pay for the food they order and the delivery charges.

How do I know if there is a new order?

The dashboard will continuously ring until you have acknowledged all the orders. You will also be notified via email.

Do you store the customer's credit card / bank information?

Nope! We do not store sensitve payment information at all. Payment is handled by Stripe.

How often is the payout from Tastebean?

There is no payout from us. All the payment goes directly to your Stripe account, so you will always get your money.

Is the payment safe from customer fraud?

We integrate Stripe's advanced fraud functionality in every page. This allows Stripe to detect suspicious behavior that may be indicative of fraud as customers browse your website. In rare cases, you may receive a notification from Stripe that a payment is suspected of being fraudulent after it has already been processed. This can occur if Stripe has detected further activity on the card which now suggests it’s being used fraudulently, or if Stripe receive an alert from the card network. Keep in mind that this is not confirmation that a payment was fraudulent, only that Stripe has reason to believe it is. Stripe provides this information to you to ensure that you're able to make an informed decision and take action where necessary (e.g., contact the customer or place their order on hold).
